The Romanian Accreditation Association - RENAR, is a non-governmental, non-profit organization, established on the basis of the provisions of Law 21/1924, with subsequent amendments, its legal personality being recognized by Civil Sentence no. 1966 of 07.08.1990 (file 1975 / PJ / 1990) of the Bucharest 1st District Court.

The Association is officially recognized as a single national accreditation body, based on Government Ordinance 23/2009 and based on the provisions of Regulation (EC) no. 765/2008 and operates under the coordination of the Ministry of Economy. The supervision of the legality of RENAR's activities is done in accordance with the applicable regulations in force.
